What this site collects, what happens when you contact us, and who else is involved

Who we are
scalenoc.com is operated by Wolk Technology Pty Ltd ("WOLK", "we"), an Australian company. ScaleNOC is our product. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What this website collects
This site is a single public page plus this one. It carries no login, no account and no shopping cart. It does, however, load a few services run by other people, and they see you arrive. In plain terms:
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID
G-4K3FPS0080) to count visits and see which parts of the page people read. It sets first-party cookies in your browser and sends Google your IP address, the pages you view and general information about your device. We use it in aggregate to improve the site. The site does not pass Google any advertising, remarketing or user-identifier parameters, and we do not use analytics data to target advertising. - Fonts. The page's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. That means Google receives a request from your browser — including your IP address — every time the page loads, before you click anything.
- Video. The home page embeds a YouTube player and loads YouTube's player code when the page opens, not when you press play. YouTube may set its own cookies. This page you are reading now contains no video and loads nothing from YouTube.
- Forms. One contact form, described below. Nothing else on the site accepts input.
- Hosting. The site is served from Amazon Web Services — files stored in AWS's Sydney region, delivered through a global content network, so the copy you receive may come from a server outside Australia. We have not turned on access logging for the site or its storage, so we do not keep a record of who visited.
When you use the contact form
The form asks for your name, your email address, an optional subject and your message. When you press send, that content becomes a single email to us and nothing more: it is not written to a database, and the text of your message is never written to our logs. Your email address is set as the reply-to on that email so we can answer you.
Two things about the mechanics are worth stating plainly, because "we store nothing" would not be quite true:
- The email is sent through Amazon Simple Email Service in AWS's Sydney region. For the 14 days after it is sent we keep a technical record of whether it was delivered — the recipient address, timestamps and the receiving mail server's response. That record exists so we can tell when a genuine enquiry has failed to reach us. It does not contain your message.
- The enquiry itself arrives in a WOLK mailbox and is kept as ordinary business correspondence, for as long as we are dealing with you and a reasonable time afterwards for our records.
The form also contains a hidden field that people never see. It exists to catch automated spam; if it is filled in, the submission is discarded.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.
When you email or call us
If you write to info@wolk.com.au or call +61 (0)3 8669 1414, we receive whatever you choose to tell us and handle it the same way as a form enquiry.
ScaleNOC customers
ScaleNOC is bought through the AWS Marketplace and runs against a customer's own AWS accounts. The operational data it works with — configuration, findings, alerts — lives in that relationship, not on this website. How we handle information during an engagement is set out in the agreement for that engagement, not by this page.
Overseas disclosure
Our files are stored in Australia, but three things reach beyond it: the content network that delivers the page, Google (for analytics, fonts and video), and our email provider, which may process mail outside Australia in the ordinary course of delivering it.
Your choices
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics everywhere. Blocking these will not stop you using this site — none of it is needed to read the page or send us a message. Browser privacy settings and extensions that block third-party requests will also prevent the analytics, fonts and video code loading at all.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@wolk.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
